The project included designing and building the Control Unit and the Datapath Unit for a 4 bit CPU. The CPU was architectured to run all the basic Arithmetic, Logical and Branching instructions. It followed the Complex Instruction Set Computer(CISC) architecture and was run by a 1 MHz clock. Its hardware included over 40 different digital ICs placed and connected on 10 Breadboards.

 

This project was done as part of the Computer Architecture course at college under the guidance of Dr.Somnath Tripathy
